A LETTER FROM ANNE
Dear Reader,
I am so excited you are opening God’s Word. As the writer of Hebrews tells us, God’s Word is living and active, and my hope is that you will experience God’s Word in new ways as you engage with this Bible. I invite you to read, highlight, underline, memorize and speak the words of Scripture––growing deeper in faith than you ever have before.
Many years ago, when I began my journey of painting angels, I would experiment with different colors and textures. I wanted to paint something that reflected my faith and pointed others to the hope I found in Jesus. Through the process of painting angels, I discovered that art is a powerful tool for introspection and spiritual growth. With each stroke of my brush, I reflect on the promises and themes found in the Bible, such as unconditional love, a hope-filled life, redemption for all who seek and salvation through God’s Son, Jesus Christ.
Art is also a helpful way to express a range of human emotions. While I’m painting, I experience many thoughts and feelings. Sometimes, when I’m in the middle of a painting, I wonder what beauty can come from my mess. But slowly, stroke by stroke, each piece of artwork comes together, and beauty emerges. This process has taught me to trust God, not only as I paint, but also as I live each day for his glory.
May you trust God’s plan for your life as you read my reflections and view each piece of artwork in this Bible. He sees you and loves you, and I pray that as you draw near to him, you would know that he draws near to you.
